About Me

Brian received his B.M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in 1997 and a M.M.Ed from Gordon College in 2010. He has been a music teacher in Methuen, MA since 1997 and has been the middle school band director at the Tenney Grammar School for the past 21 years. In addition to his full time position in Methuen, Brian is currently one of the Assistant Directors for the UMass Lowell Symphonic Band Camp, served as the woodwind instructor for the Boston College Marching Band and worked with the UMass Lowell Marching Band.

He has extensive high school instruction experience leading the saxophone and clarinet lessons at Dracut, Melrose and Peabody High schools, as well as other local music studios. In addition to his teaching experience, Brian played soprano and alto saxophones with the quartet The Skat Saxes.

He was also the tenor saxophonist for the group Saffire, performing throughout New England and sharing the stage with Wayne Naus (Buddy Rich & Maynard Ferguson), Jay Daly (The New England Brass & North Shore Music Theater) and Dave Mitchell (U.S Air Force and Beatlejuice).

Brian enjoys spending his spare time hiking, camping and boating with his wife Liz and their two boys Owen and Evan.
